The change in audio from breath to pitch as the mouth opens and closes creates a bridge from the interiority of thought and body function to the exteriority of the individual as part of public life. 440.0 Hz is a standard reference pitch, for example a tone that is used by symphonies for tuning- the ultimate referent.
